Even if you are not a meditation addict, a minimalist Japanese rock garden can add a welcome touch of peace and serenity to any bedroom decor.
Zen gardens (or Japanese rock gardens) are known to encourage inspiration.
According to some neurobiology studies, this may come from their minimalist design. It seems that when we contemplate the static beauty of these well organized arrangements, our brains compensate the lack of decorative elements with an efflorescence of the imagination.

How to create your own Zen garden
It is really easy to create a Zen garden.
You can use any available space. If your space is limited, a simple minimalist plate on a piece of furniture will do.
However, if you want to create a very impressive garden, you can use many square feet on your bedroom floor. There is no limit.
Most of the materials are easy to find locally. You need some sand (preferably white), a container for the sand, and some beautiful stones. Try to use only natural materials.
For all projects, wood is perhaps the ideal border material for your sandbox.
If you place your rock garden directly on the floor in a corner of your room, place a polyethylene sheet on the floor before putting in the sand.
